About the event

Continuous Hot Composting, with Joel Meadows

Are you already a keen composter looking to take your composting skills to the next level? Do you make compost regularly, but sometimes have failures that you can’t explain, or just can’t seem to make your compost piles hot enough or for long enough?

In this workshop, Joel Meadows will go beyond the basics to look at what is really happening in that hot (or not) pile, how to understand the ingredients you put in your pile and how to make the balance that will supercharge our compost pile.

Joel Meadows is a permaculture educator and energy consultant. Joel has been making hot compost for over 30 years and is on the team of YIMBY, a community composting initiative growing in Castlemaine. Joel loves compost and is always excited to share what he has learned in his years of experimentation.

On ticket pricing

Our tickets are sold on a sliding scale to make our events more inclusive. Please pay according to your income.

Paying the supporter (pay-it-forward) price allows us to continue to offer these workshops at a discounted rate for those who would otherwise struggle to afford the full price.

If the concession price still feels prohibitive to you, use the coupon FOODJUSTICE to access this workshop for free.
