About the event

Learn the basics of sustainable carpentry using second-hand pallets in this hands-on workshop with Max Godber.

You'll learn:

  • Where to source second-hand pallets for your personal projects
  • Basic carpentry tools and how to use them
  • How to dismantle and prep pallets for cutting
  • How to build a raised garden bed out of pallets

The workshop will be followed by a cup of warm farm tea and a Q&A.

Max Godber is the community garden and nursery coordinator at Living & Learning Pakenham and a long-term collaborator at Sustain. When he is not juggling his multiple roles in community food and sustainability projects, like CAWRS and Cardinia Farm and Food Directory, he enjoys salvaging abandoned pallets and turning them into raised garden beds, compost hubs, and other upcycled furniture for the community and himself.
